Investment in UK startups reaches record high of £10.1bn ($13.2bn) in 2019, a 44% year-on-year growth. Compared to the USA, Germany, France and China, investment activity in the UK grew the most last year. In Europe, the UK continues to be #1 by the number of unicorns. In 2019 alone, the UK created 8 new unicorns. Taking a closer look by sector, fintech, AI and deep tech and clean energy were the UK’s best-performing ones.
